Free IEP Review Dayhelp

The Free IEP Review Day will provide parents/guardians an opportunity for a free, one-on-one review of their disabled child’s IEP/504 plan with a special education attorney and a special educator.* The review session will be up to an hour and will include a review of select school records/documentation and an opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback. We can only accept a limited number of participants and priority for the free review is for low-income families.

If you are interested in participating, please complete this brief questionnaire by March 8th. Selected participants will be notified by March 9th. Documentation/Records to be reviewed must be received by March 15th to hold your spot.

Claudia Pringles is a licensed attorney with a focus area in special needs law. She is a also the co-chair of the Vermont Autism Task Force and a tireless advocate, helping to pass several laws at the state level that significantly help those with disabilities. She is a parent of two children, including a teenage daughter with autism. 
Joy Wilcox has worked as a special educator in VT for over 30 years. Currently Joy coordinates the Special Education Endorsement Program and the Autism Certificate Program for the VT Higher Education Collaborative (VT-HEC). She is also an instructor of graduate courses in both programs (Assessment in Special Education, Teaching Children with Moderate to Severe Disabilities and Collaboration and Teaming: Working with Tough Teams). She supervises practicum students and is member of the VT-HEC Operations Group.  Joy also consults individually with schools and offers trainings to support school staff.
